Fair to Midland is turning up the heat with its inaugural DPSOA Crawfish Cook-Off, promising a day filled with spicy competition, live music, and Southern hospitality. The event, set for Saturday, invites the community to enjoy top-tier crawfish, a lively auction, and plenty of entertainment—all in support of the Department of Public Safety Officers Association (DPSOA).

“This is our first year doing this event, so hopefully it will continue to grow!” said Bri Semple, events, marketing, and social media manager for KPG Hospitality. “Some of our regular customers brought this idea to us, and being that we already host many crawfish boils throughout the year, we thought it would be a great fit.”

The cook-off will feature teams of experienced crawfish chefs ready to showcase their skills. “Many of the teams competing this year are seasoned veterans in the crawfish cooking space and come ready to bring the heat!” Semple said.

Beyond the food, attendees can expect a full day of entertainment, including live music, local vendors, a crawfish-eating contest, and a live auction. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the DPSOA. “The proceeds go directly to their organization,” Semple said.

Though this is Fair to Midland’s first official crawfish cook-off, past boils at the venue have created lasting memories. “We have held plenty of crawfish boils at Fair to Midland in the past, and they are always a great time! People dance, eat, and enjoy the patio,” Semple said.

For those attending their first crawfish cook-off, Semple has simple advice: “Bring your appetite and get ready to party, drink, judge, and enjoy!”

Tickets are available for $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Whether you're a crawfish connoisseur or just looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, Fair to Midland’s DPSOA Crawfish Cook-Off is shaping up to be a must-attend event.
