Families in Midland can stay local for Spring Break fun at the Bush Family Home State Historic Site, which will offer a week of interactive activities from March 11-15.
The event will feature classic games like marbles, hopscotch, and hula hoops, as well as two lighthearted elections in celebration of Civics Week.
The event, which runs daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., features interactive activities with a historical twist. In honor of Civics Week, the site will also host two lighthearted elections. Visitors can vote on which Texas Historical Commission site they’d like to visit this summer, and a second ballot will settle the timeless debate—tacos or pizza? Results will be posted each evening on social media, comparing the preferences of kids and adults.
Site Manager Troy Gray said the event provides a fun way for local families to enjoy Spring Break without leaving town.
“We are providing a fun place for families who are looking for things to do during Spring Break,” Gray said. “You don’t have to leave Midland to have a great time.”
The Bush Family Home, located at 1412 West Ohio St., offers a glimpse into the early years of former President George W. Bush. The site is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tour beginning at 4:15 p.m.
