Congressman August Pfluger has expressed his support for President Trump's recent executive order aimed at preserving the integrity of women's sports. The order seeks to uphold Title XI by prohibiting biological men from competing in women's sports.
In a statement, Congressman Pfluger said, "I applaud President Trump's Executive Order to put an end to the war on women's sports. Biological men have no place in women's sports, and I am thankful President Trump took executive action today to ensure female athletes will never be forced to compete against biological men ever again."
Pfluger criticized what he described as a four-year attack on women's sports, emphasizing his personal connection to the issue as a father of three daughters. He stated that this move by President Trump represents "common sense being restored in the White House" and praised it as another instance of Trump fulfilling promises made to Americans.
The announcement coincided with an event hosted by Congressman Pfluger on Capitol Hill featuring Riley Gaines, a vocal advocate for female athletes. Gaines, an All-American swimmer from the University of Kentucky, shared her experiences of competing against a biological male with lawmakers before attending the signing ceremony for the executive order.
Additionally, Congressman Pfluger recently supported legislative efforts through his vote for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. This legislation aims to safeguard female athletes both in Texas and nationwide.
