Bynum School has extended an invitation to the public to assist its students in gaining practical learning experiences by visiting their weekly concession store.

According to a Facebook post dated February 5, Bynum's life skills students manage the store every Friday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The private nonprofit special needs school states that through this activity, students not only run the store but also develop confidence, independence, and responsibility. "It turns a simple snack break into a hands-on learning experience," the post says.

The initiative allows students to practice various skills such as money management, math, customer service, organization, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management. Bynum explains that students who act as customers also have the chance to enhance their decision-making abilities, social interaction skills, and real-world money handling in a supportive environment.

The store operates on a cash-only basis, with profits directed towards necessities and incentives for fun activities. Bynum School, located at 5100 Avalon Dr., encourages the Midland community to support its students and participate in this educational endeavor.
