Today, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) participated in a Joint Session of the United States Congress to certify the victory of President Donald J. Trump in the 2024 election. Following the completion of the electoral college vote count, which was 312-226, Congress declared Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

Congressman Pfluger issued a statement after the certification: "Today, Congress certified the historic election of President Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States. Now in just 14 days, President Trump will finally be back in office to right the ship and steer America back on course."

He continued by addressing concerns from recent years: "During the last four years of the Biden administration, Americans have suffered from record-high inflation, millions of illegal immigrants have crossed at the southern border wreaking havoc throughout the country, and we witnessed one foreign policy disaster after the next. As a result, the American people were loud and clear on November 5th that America needed a change. A change that we certified today."

Pfluger expressed optimism for future policies: "Americans are ready for a thriving economy, a secure border, energy independence and dominance, safer streets, stronger communities, to reclaim our leadership on a global stage, and much more. I look forward to working with President Trump, as well as my colleagues in Congress, to fight for the betterment of America. We are incredibly blessed to live in the greatest nation on earth, and I am determined to keep it that way."
