U.S. Representative August Pfluger, representing Texas' 11th Congressional District, has been sworn in for his third term in office. In a statement released following the ceremony, Rep. Pfluger expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to continue serving his district.
"I am greatly honored to have been given the opportunity to continue serving the incredible people of Texas' 11th District in Congress," he stated. He described Texas as "the best place to live and raise a family" and emphasized his commitment to serve the district.
Rep. Pfluger also highlighted the election of Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress, expressing appreciation for the unity among House Republicans: "I am also extremely thankful that House Republicans were able to come together today to elect Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress."
Looking ahead, Rep. Pfluger outlined his priorities under what he termed a new Republican Trifecta, which includes securing borders, promoting American energy dominance, strengthening military capabilities, and enhancing national security.
In this congressional session, Rep. Pfluger will take on several roles including Chairman of the Republican Study Committee and membership on both the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Committee on Homeland Security.
