MAF sees rise in travelers and parking revenue during first two months of fiscal year

Midland International Air & Space Port (MAF) continues to experience an increase in passenger numbers and parking revenue.

According to a news release, the airport recorded 63,233 passengers in November, marking a 4.33% increase from the 60,600 travelers it accommodated in November 2023. The first two months of the fiscal year have seen an additional 7,000 passengers compared to the same period last year, representing a 6% rise to a total of 130,604 passengers. The city's fiscal year runs from October through September.

Most travelers flew with Southwest Airlines, which accounted for 46.3% of the total passenger count. American Eagle and United Airlines followed with 26.7% and 23.11%, respectively. Alongside the record number of travelers, the city collected $677,511 in net parking revenues in November, reflecting a 3.17% increase from the previous year.

According to its website, MAF ranks eighth among primary commercial service airports in Texas. The airport is owned and operated by the city of Midland and offers more than 20 daily departures to several major airports including Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Dallas Love Field (DAL), Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and Denver International Airport (DEN).
