Midland Battery Co. has received approval for a replat of its property, enabling the company to proceed with plans for a new warehouse. This decision was made during a recent Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

The company sought to replat its property at 1410 W. Front Street, aiming to consolidate three lots into one in order to incorporate a warehouse component into its operations, according to documents submitted to the commission. The project is being led by Midland Battery President David Harrington.

According to these documents, the 0.41-acre lot will be converted into a single lot. The City Council is expected to vote on this recommendation at an upcoming meeting. Kyle Newton, vice president of local civil engineering firm Newton Engineers, represented the project before the commission.

In October, Midland Times reported that the proposed 6,200 square-foot warehouse development would cost an estimated $350,000, based on filings with a state regulatory agency. The project was tentatively scheduled to commence on December 1 and conclude by August 1, 2025; however, construction timelines in filings are preliminary. The local design firm H3 Digital Design is also part of the project team.
