As construction of Zoo Midland nears, plans are in place for several non-zoo spaces designed to enhance visitor experiences. The spaces, which include a restaurant, an event venue, and a farmhouse rental, will provide additional amenities for locals and tourists.
"We want the zoo to be more than just an animal attraction," said Jason Green, Zoo Midland Director. "By offering a variety of spaces for visitors, we can create a destination that caters to the needs of the entire community.”
The zoo's on-site restaurant will offer visitors dining options, from casual bites to more unique offerings. According to Green, the two-story restaurant will be designed with an amazing view overlooking the giraffe and hoofstock habitat while offering a comfortable space to relax during visits to the zoo.
Also located in the interior of the zoo will be a farmhouse rental. This accommodation will allow smaller groups of guests to enjoy the zoo in a private space. It will offer a wraparound porch, gathering space, bathrooms, and a small kitchen to enjoy a range of events from birthdays to family reunions.
A large-scale event venue will also be available for weddings, corporate functions, and other special occasions.
"This venue will be a versatile space for hosting an event of any kind," said Green. "It will provide a scenic backdrop for all types of gatherings, from small parties to large-scale celebrations."
The event venue will offer two separate event spaces that will seat up to 200 people with a center breezeway that leads out to a large back deck overlooking the giraffe savanna and the rest of the zoo. Two lobbies, restrooms, bride and groom spaces, and a full catering kitchen will also be available.
