Residents will experience temperatures below freezing tomorrow morning, according to a post from the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS is urging individuals to protect plants and tender vegetation from the cold, along with safeguarding pipes that are exposed to low temperatures and could be prone to bursting. "Cold temperatures are expected to impact the region tomorrow morning. Bring pets indoors and protect your plants! #nmwx #txwx," the organization wrote.
According to the weather service, temperatures are expected to drop below 28 degrees Fahrenheit for much of the Permian Basin. The anticipated frost and freezing conditions could harm plants and damage unprotected plumbing.
The NWS forecasts a clear night this evening with a low of 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Wednesday is predicted to be sunny with a high of 59 degrees and a low of 38 degrees, accompanied by winds up to 15 miles per hour from the south. Thursday will see a high near 57 degrees with wind gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.
