The city of Midland is set to host its annual Merry Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Market on Tuesday, December 3rd. The event will take place at Centennial Park from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the tree-lighting scheduled for 6:25 p.m.
KOSA will provide a live broadcast of the tree-lighting ceremony. Attendees can enjoy a shopping market featuring more than 50 vendors and food trucks, as well as live performances and photo opportunities with Santa.
Entertainment for the evening includes performances by Senior Center Line Dancers, Legacy High School Choir, Midland High School Choir, San Jacinto Junior High Orchestra, Midland Festival Ballet, Midland High School Jazz Band, and Midland Community Theater.
The lights in Centennial Park will be illuminated from 5:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily through the end of the year. A projection light show sponsored by Community National Bank will also be featured each night on the East Wall Building during these hours.
Additionally, residents are reminded about Midland’s Merry Lighted Christmas Parade scheduled for December 14th at 6:30 p.m., with registration open until December 12th at 6 p.m.
