St. Stephen's Catholic Church is set to expand its facilities with a $1.3 million project aimed at increasing classroom space.
According to a report on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) website, the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Angelo, under the leadership of Father Bala Govindu, is spearheading this initiative. The development is currently titled "St. Stephen's Classrooms."
The TDLR report indicates that the project will add 6,300 square feet of new classrooms to the church situated at 4601 Neely Avenue. Construction is scheduled to commence on May 2, 2025, with completion expected by October 1, 2025.
"This new building will serve as a vital space for our children's faith formation, equipping them with the tools to grow in their relationship with Christ," said Govindu. He added that it will also function as a daycare during the day, creating a multi-purpose facility that benefits both families in the parish and the broader community.
