Keep Midland Beautiful (KMB) organized its 19th Annual Texas Recycles Day on November 16.
In a Facebook post dated November 21, the non-profit organization reported that the event experienced an "amazing turnout." The post expressed gratitude, stating, "Thank you to our sponsors, vendors, and residents who participated—we couldn't have done this without you," adding that "Midland loves where they live and it shows."
According to the post, a total of 352 vehicles were used to transport various recyclable materials. These included 13,068 pounds of electronics; 7,800 pounds of documents; 4,300 pounds of appliances; 3,700 pounds of tires; 300 pounds of plastic; 610 pounds of paper; 35 pounds of aluminum; and 6,310 pounds of cardboard.
KMB also shared a link for residents to find locations where they can recycle items throughout the year. The group's website noted that Texas Recycles Day is also recognized as America Recycles Day. It is now part of a national campaign aimed at promoting education and awareness about the benefits of waste reduction and recycling.
