Ahead of the Bulldogs' playoff game against the Spartans, running back Elijah McCoy has been recognized with player of the week honors by a dealership company.
"Elijah McCoy’s physical running style shined in a 21-18 win over Permian! The Senior RB gained 67 yards and scored, bringing him close to breaking his school’s season records for rushing yards and TDs. Now, he’s the Class 6A #BFTPOW," Greater Texas Ford wrote on X.
According to MaxPreps, McCoy finished the season with 236 carries for 1,548 yards and 22 touchdowns. He aims to lead the Bulldogs, who hold a district record of 3-2 and an overall record of 7-3, past El Paso Pebble Hills in the bi-district round of the Class 6A Division I playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Midland Times previously reported that McCoy plans to continue his football career at the University of Texas El Paso, a decision he announced on X in July.
