MIDLAND, TX - Monte Kay Cross, 76, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 25th, 2024. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Stonegate Fellowship. The graveside service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on November 1, 2024, at Newman Cemetery in Sylvester, Texas.

Born on December 3rd, 1947, in Amarillo, Texas, to Alan and Dixie Johnson, Monte Kay, a dedicated public servant, retired as a Lieutenant with the Sheriff's Office after 37 years of serving Midland County. She is survived by her brothers, Richard and Gene Johnson, sons Clayton and Clint Cross, grandchildren Keith, Collin, and Kendall Cross, and bonus daughter Kari Underhill, alongside numerous family members, friends, and loved ones she held dear.

Preceded in death by her husband Larry Jess Cross, Monte Kay will be fondly remembered for her strong faith, warm smile, and kindness to all. Her impact on the community and her dedication to serving at Stonegate Fellowship will be cherished by those who knew her.
