Trinity School of Midland moves a step closer to district crown with 68-50 victory over Plano Coram Deo

The Trinity School of Midland Chargers football team moved closer to the 2024 District 1 championship following a decisive 68-50 victory over Plano Coram Deo on October 25.

According to the game statistics, senior Jude Varner was instrumental in the win, rushing for 354 yards and scoring seven touchdowns on 21 carries. Fellow senior Lincoln Lewis contributed with an additional 43 rushing yards and a touchdown. Lewis's score came from Victor Valles's only completion out of three attempts. Kicker Miguel Monteiro successfully converted 70% of his ten point-after-touchdown (PAT) attempts, adding up to 14 points.

Valles also made significant contributions on defense, recording ten tackles, forcing a fumble, and deflecting a pass. Lewis was involved in recovering Valles's forced fumble and made eight tackles himself. Jose Loya added six tackles and two pass breakups to the team's defensive efforts.

The Chargers are now positioned to secure the district championship in their upcoming game against Carrollton Prince of Peace on November 1.
