The city of Midland has issued a reminder to residents that early voting will continue through November 1. This announcement comes as the second and final full week of early voting is underway.

An October 28 Facebook post from the city said that all eligible voters have the opportunity to participate in at least one race. The key races this year include the presidential election between former President Donald Trump, representing the Republican Party, and Vice President Kamala Harris, representing the Democratic Party. Additionally, there is a Senate race featuring incumbent Republican Senator Ted Cruz against Democratic challenger U.S. Representative Colin Allred from Dallas. On a local level, seats for District 1 and at-large positions on the Midland City Council are also being contested.

Mayor Lori Blong took part in early voting during its first week. In an October 25 post on her Facebook page, she shared that she voted at the Midland College Cogdell Learning Center. Blong noted that "the lines at the polling precinct weren’t too long and poll workers processed people so efficiently."

The Texas Secretary of State's website specifies that voters must present a government-issued ID when voting in person.
