Midland, Texas - Robert "Bob" "Tootie" Miller, a retired Midland Police Department Sergeant and firearms expert, passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 82. Miller, affectionately known as Tootie, was born on August 27, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.

Miller joined the Midland Police Department in November 1967 and served until his retirement as Sgt. of the Firearms Range in May 1993. Known for his expertise in firearms, he was the owner and gunsmith of Action Sports of Texas. Miller was a lifetime member of the Single Action Shooting Society and the NRA, participating in shooting events and even teaching a firearms class in Australia.

He is survived by his wife Debbie of 20 years, son Robert (Rob) Miller Jr., and several family members.
