Odessa and Alpine, Texas - Alfredo L Espinosa, aged 80, from Odessa, Texas, passed away on July 3, 2024. Born in Alpine, TX on February 12, 1944, he served in the Army before beginning a long and impactful career in education, teaching and coaching hundreds of students in Ector High School and Ector Junior High in Odessa for over 30 years.

Known by many names including Alfredo, Firo, “Es”, Maestro, and Coach, Alfredo was described as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and neighbor. A man full of life, he was remembered for his wisdom, sense of humor, and love for family, friends, and his faith. Alfredo was cherished by all who knew him and made friends easily wherever he went.

Alfredo is survived by his daughter Norma Jean Espinosa, son Robert Espinosa, grandsons Robert Espinosa, Jr., and Caleb Guajardo, and brother Manuel Espinosa. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several siblings.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Odessa, TX, and on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine, TX, followed by burial at Holy Angels Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alfredo's favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children's Hospital. The Espinosa family expresses their gratitude for the condolences and prayers received. Funeral arrangements are made by Lewallen Garcia Pipkin Funeral and Staff.
