William "Bill" Westbrook Smith, 92, of Midland, Texas, Passes Away Visitation Scheduled for October 9

William "Bill" Westbrook Smith, aged 92, of Midland, Texas, died on October 2, 2024. Born to Ray and Lois Spencer Smith in Oblong, IL, Bill graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1954. He served in the United States Army Reserve and had a distinguished career with Marathon Oil Co. spanning several locations. Bill was involved in various community organizations, enjoyed outdoor activities, and was a member of several associations.

Survived by his wife Eleanor Slunaker Smith, daughter Elizabeth Ann Smith, son Robert "Bob" Smith, and brother Randal Smith, Bill is remembered for his volunteer work and passion for traveling, fishing, bird hunting, and skiing. The visitation will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory on October 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice are appreciated.
