The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has disclosed the construction timeline for the Diamondback Energy Athletic Complex.
According to a filing with TDLR, the $34.7 million athletic center, designed for residents in the Permian Basin, is scheduled to commence construction on Oct. 21 and be completed by Dec. 12, 2025. The facility will cover 114,787 square feet and will be situated at 5501 Deauville Drive.
Earlier this month, Midland Times reported that Midland Athletic Syndicate (MAS), a nonprofit organization formed by a group of Midland parents, conducted a groundbreaking ceremony. The project receives support from companies including Diamondback, Permian Resources, Pioneer, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips. The complex will include six full-size basketball courts that can be converted into 12 volleyball courts and a multi-sport turf area for indoor soccer and other sports.
Austen Campbell is identified as the point of contact for Midland Athletic Syndicate in the filing. Jacob Martin, an Abilene-based design firm, managed the architectural aspects of the complex.
