The Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC) is highlighting the economic achievements of Texas, emphasizing its strong performance in several key areas. According to TxEDC, the state has experienced significant job growth and a robust economy.

Since July 2022, Texas has added 441,700 jobs, making it the leading state for job growth from July 2022 to July 2023. Governor Greg Abbott commented on this achievement, stating: "Texas again outpaces the nation in annual jobs growth thanks to strong business investments and the best workforce in America."

In terms of economic size, preliminary GDP estimates for 2022 indicate that Texas's economy has reached $2.36 trillion. This positions Texas as the eighth-largest economy globally, surpassing countries like Canada and Russia.

Additionally, Texas continues to excel in exports due to its extensive transportation and infrastructure network. The state accounts for 23% of all U.S. exports and has maintained its status as the top exporting state for 21 consecutive years. In 2023, the total value of Texas exports rose to $485.6 billion, marking a 29% increase from the previous year.
