After proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Pedro returned to Pecos where he married his love, Ramona L. Ybarra, with whom he shared over six decades of marriage. He moved his family to Midland, TX, to provide a better life for his loved ones. Pedro had a fulfilling career as a truck driver, working for Borden's Dairy, Western Crude Oil, and the U.S. Postal Service.
Known for his wisdom and storytelling, Pedro was a man who treasured his roles as a family man above all else. Survived by his wife Ramona, sons Michael Ybarra of Payne, TX, Henry Ybarra, Peter Ybarra, daughter Sandra Ybarra, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a sister, three brothers, and many others who held him dear.
Preceded in death by his parents, sons Pete Ybarra, Jr., Roy Ybarra, Bobby Ybarra, daughter Mae Ybarra, grandson Jose Pedro Payan, Jr., granddaughter Jane Ann Saenz, and three brothers.
Pallbearers for the service will include family members and close friends. Visitation will be held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass is set for Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery.
