Richard Jay "Rich" Knittle, 95, of Midland, Texas, passed away on July 11, 2024, following a battle with Parkinson's disease. He was known for his dedication to family and his passion for sports and outdoor activities. A come-and-go reception to celebrate his life will be held at the Manor Park Atrium on August 16th.

Born on July 25, 1928, in Elyria, Ohio, Richard served in the U.S. Army before pursuing a career as a geophysicist. He married Norma Ruth Rogers in 1953, and together they had six children. Richard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his love of sports, golf, cycling, and volunteer work with Meals on Wheels. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his wife, Norma, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, and son.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Midland or Senior Life Midland (Meals on Wheels).
