Donald Earl McDowell, aged 86, of Midland, Texas, passed away on June 9th, 2024, joining his Heavenly Father. Born on May 13th, 1938, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Earl and Donna McDowell, Don was the oldest of three brothers. He attended the Colorado School of Mines, where he obtained a degree in Petroleum Engineering and later pursued his passion for ministry by earning a Master's Degree of Divinity from the Denver Theological Seminary.

Don married Lynn Goolsby on June 5th, 1960, and together they had three children: Christine, Scott, and Ross. He worked as a chemist for Esso (now Exxon Mobil) before transitioning into ministry. Don founded Sunrise Baptist Church in Suncook, New Hampshire, where he served as pastor for twenty-five years, impacting many lives in the community.

Known for his love of travel, Don enjoyed cross-country trips with his family, creating lasting memories along the way. He and Lynn were actively involved members of Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenwood. Don's legacy of faith, service, and family devotion will be carried on by his wife, Lynn, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, son Ross, sister-in-law Carmen McDowell, and nephew Claud McDowell. He is survived by his family, including his two brothers, Larry and Gary, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
