Alicia Romero Mena, 53, of Midland, TX, passed away on June 7, 2024. Born and raised in Midland, she attended Midland High School and graduated from Aladdin Beauty College.

Remembered as a strong, loving, caring, and selfless woman, Alicia was not just a hairstylist but an incredible painter and avid crafter. Her love for all things beautiful shone through her work, often adding a touch of sparkle to everything she created. At church, Alicia dedicated herself to making flower arrangements and ensuring holidays were special for the congregation and her family. She lovingly prepared delicious homemade meals on Wednesdays for the children at church, earning the affectionate monikers "Wita" and "Mamma Mena" from everyone.

In her professional career, Alicia was known for her dedication to making people feel beautiful, a trait that endeared her to her clients and coworkers alike. Her infectious love and kindness left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path, as she made it a point to ensure everyone felt loved and cherished.

In 1990, Alicia met her husband Jose Alfredo Mena, whom she married on June 3, 2000. Together, they shared four children: Toni Chanel Romero-Ramirez, Joshua Andrew Romero, Alfredo Mena Jr., and Lucero Mena. The light of her life, Alicia adored her 12 grandchildren dearly, relishing every moment spent with them.

Alicia is survived by her brothers Ruben Romero, Delfino Martinez, Oscar Ronquillo Jr., and Christian Ronquillo, and sisters Elfida Ronquillo, Gracie Ramirez, Oralia Oropeza, Sylvia Nevarez, Estella Ramirez, Ida Romero, Yolanda Flores, and Helen Flores. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Alfredo Mena, father Manuel Romero, mother Alicia Montanez, step-father Oscar Ronquillo, and brothers Manuel Romero Jr. and Benjamin Romero.

A viewing is scheduled on June 20, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will take place on June 21, 2024, at 10:00 am at The Salvation Army Church, followed by burial at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christian Ramirez, Joshua Romero, Alfredo Mena Jr., Manuel Lara, Cesar Juarez, Fabian Romero, Carlitos Martinez, and Alexander Deleon.
