Fidel Gardea Sotelo, aged 60, of Midland, passed away on June 6, 2024, to join the Lord. Born on September 17, 1963, in Ojinaga, Mexico, he was the son of Fidel and Dominga Gardea. In 2004, he married his beloved Alma Gardea. Fidel was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his joyous spirit and ability to bring laughter to those around him.

He is survived by his sister Rosa Aguilera, brother Carlos Gardea, sons Iram Escudero and Fidel Gardea Jr., daughters Nataly and husband Martin Carrasco Jr., Tannya and Andres Serrano, and Victoria Gardea. His grandchildren, Adam, Iram Jr., Madelyn, and Noahh, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will keep his memory alive.

Preceding Fidel in death are his parents, brother Luis Gardea, and sisters Siria Hernandez-Gardea and Olga Mata-Gardea.

Services for Fidel are being held at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. A viewing will be conducted on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church.
