Midland, Texas -- Midland has been ranked 12th in the nation for 2024’s Best BBQ Cities in America, according to Lawnstarter.com.
The top three cities were Kansas City, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; and Houston. Austin (seventh) and San Antonio (eighth) were the only other Texas cities ranked higher than Midland.
Lawnstarter expanded its rankings to the 500 biggest U.S. cities based on access, consumer satisfaction, elite barbecue memberships, competition awards, and hosting.
Midland ranked third in competition award rankings and ninth in elite barbecue rankings. Other rankings included 32nd for hosting, 160th for access, and 222nd for consumer satisfaction.
Odessa ranked 111th.
Other Texas cities in the rankings included Dallas (21st), Fort Worth (34th), Lubbock (45th), Amarillo (101st), Abilene (173rd), and San Angelo (178th).
