Omni Hotels & Resorts has entered into a development agreement with Midland Downtown Renaissance, LP to build and manage a 135-room luxury hotel in downtown Midland, Texas. The project involves collaboration among leading Midland-based companies, foundations, and investors.

Headquartered in Dallas, Omni is set to expand its presence in Texas with the Omni Midland Hotel. This will be the company's 12th hotel in the state. The plans for the hotel include 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a 7,000 square-foot ballroom, 135 guest rooms, a spa, a rooftop pool, a lobby bar with an all-day dining concept, and Bob’s Steak and Chop House.

“Our partnership with Omni empowers us to move forward with a dynamic development plan. This is the right time, the right place, with the right partner. Collaborating with Omni will help us transform this visionary concept into a reality and seize a unique opportunity to advance our community while leaving a lasting impact on our economic landscape,” says Dan Hord from HEDLOC Investment Company.

The design work for the project will be undertaken by two firms based in Texas: HKS Architects for architecture and Looney & Associates for interior design. The Design Agency has been chosen to curate all restaurant and bar concepts within the hotel.

"It is an honor to welcome the Omni Midland Hotel to our collection of one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts. Each of our properties reflects the authentic spirit of its destination," says Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts.

Midland Mayor Lori Blong also expressed enthusiasm about the project: “This is a tremendous opportunity for the City of Midland and West Texas. We have envisioned a new convention center hotel downtown for nearly a decade... With Omni’s expertise in the meetings and convention market, this new convention center hotel will undoubtedly enhance our economy.”

Grant Billingsley from Scharbauer Foundation commented on the long-term benefits: “Many thanks go to Omni Hotels & Resorts... if history is any indicator, this new downtown hotel will serve our community for the next 50 years.”
