Be it remembered that on Wednesday the 28th day of August 2024 at 10:31 a.m. a special meeting of the Midland County Commissioners Court was called to order in the Commissioners Courtroom, located at the Midland County Courthouse, 500 North Loraine Street, Midland, Texas.

1. Receive presentation from Holmes Murphy on RFP 24MCO621 Employee Insurance Benefits.
Sara Gray, Treasure introduced the Holmes Murphy team. Melinda Crites, Shawn Quildon, and Jeff Holmes. The Holmes Murphy team presented the responses they received to RFP 24MCO621, Employee Insurance Benefits. The companies presented were Boon Chapman, the Counties current insurance provider, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and UMR. They quickly touched on the Dental, Vision, EAP, LTD, STD, Worksite Products, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital indemnity, Life and AD&D.
The results show the recommendation is Blue Cross Blue Shield and MetLife. Sara Gray, Treasurer stated that this will not change the clinic.

2. Discuss and take action on award of RFP 24MCO621 Employee Insurance Benefits. Presented by Sara Gray, Treasurer and the Holmes Murphy team.
Motion to change our medical coverage starting January 1 and awarding it to Blue Cross Blue Shield for the following: medical, pharmacy, stoploss, cobra, FSA administration, and dental. Make the motion to award to MetLife: vision, long term and voluntary short term disability, employee assistance program, basic life and voluntary benefits.

3. Discuss and take action on updated job description for Medical Investigator.
Presented by County Judge Johnson. The name is being changed from a Death Investigator to a Medical Investigator. Judge Johnson was trying to focus on a medical background for the position, instead of a law enforcement background. Commissioner Ramsey stated that he thought any disciplinary action for this position should be decided by the Court.
Motion to approve the new job descriptions for the Medical Investigators. Changing the supervisory responsibilities to the entire Commissioners Court.
