The Midland Chamber will honor two local businesses – one large and one small – this year with its inaugural Heart of Midland Award accolade.
According to the chamber’s Facebook page, Diamondback Energy is the maiden recipient of the Heart of Midland – Large Business Award.
A September 18 Facebook post said that the independent oil and natural gas company, which recently completed a merger with Endeavor Energy Resources, is actively involved in philanthropic efforts within the region. The post added that Diamondback has donated to schools and scholarship programs to improve access to education, as well as funded local hospitals and clinics.
In a September 17 Facebook post, the chamber announced Henry Resources as the honoree of the first-ever Heart of Midland Award for Small Business. According to the post, Henry Resources, a 55-year-old independent oil and gas company, is recognized for its strong commitment to integrity, innovation, and responsible stewardship of natural resources. The company also has a major philanthropic presence in Tall City with its support of education, healthcare, and social programs.
The accolades and other awards will be officially accepted at the chamber's 2024 Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon at the Bush Convention Center on September 25. Table sponsorships and tickets are available for purchase until September 19.
