The Midland Police Department (MPD) is inviting the public to participate in National Night Out on October 1.
In a September 6 Facebook post, MPD issued a call for neighborhoods to sign up for National Night Out and join forces with the Permian Basin law enforcement agency to strengthen the bond between officers and residents.
According to MPD, interested parties can register by logging onto https://www.midlandtexas.gov/318/National-Night-Out between now and September 24 to access a form.
MPD asks citizens to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend an evening outside with neighbors.
Participants can also print out the form and submit it to the MPD Community Relations Division at 600 N. Loraine St.
