The Permian Basin Medical Center is updating infrastructure around its facility to the tune of $7.6 million, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
The medical facility, located at the southeast corner of State Highway 191 and State Highway 349, is part of the Medical Center Health System and is expected to receive 2,799 square feet of new roadway. According to TDLR, drainage infrastructure, a detention pond, and the installation of public utilities are also included in the scope of work. The working title of the project is Permian Basin Medical Center Gateway Boulevard - Phase 1.
According to Midland Health, Meyers became president of the health system in November 2002 and was previously a CEO at three Houston-based hospitals. He graduated from Rice University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Managerial Studies.
According to TDLR, Midland Memorial Foundation President and Chief Development Officer Russell Meyers is in charge of the project. The local design firm Parkhill, led by Senior Practice Leader Michael W. Molter, is on the project team. The project is expected to begin construction on Dec. 1 and be completed by February 24, 2026.
