A new bar is coming to the western portion of the city with development expected to begin this fall, according to a state filing with a regulatory agency.

The $1 million project, Midland Bar, consists of building large open-air canopy houses, a central open-air bar, and abundant garden space beneath the canopy. The restrooms and storage space will be placed in a conditioned service building. Additionally, maintenance equipment will be stored in a garden shed. The development will have a total of 3,698 square feet.

According to the filing, Midland Bar will be owned by Clay Woody from West Lake Hills. The project is anticipated to begin construction on Nov. 4 and run until Dec. 31, 2025. The address for the bar is 5608 Westridge Boulevard.

According to Loopnet, the 2.12-acre property next to Sam’s Club and HEB is zoned for commercial use and had an estimated value of $369,000 during a recent property tax assessment.
