Texas Rangers investigate officer involved shooting in Midland County

Deputies with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to a "check person" call in the 1700 block of East County Road 137 on the night of August 12.

According to a Facebook post by the Permian Basin law enforcement agency, upon their arrival at approximately 11:30 p.m., authorities were involved in an officer-involved shooting.

Permian Basin stations KMID News and KPEJ News reported that no other details have been released. MCSO did not reveal if the incident yielded any injuries.

As per its procedure in all officer-involved shootings, the Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
