The intersection of East County Road 173 and South County Road 1110 in the southeast part of Midland was the site of a tanker collision on August 11. Consequently, the Midland Fire Department (MFD) published a Facebook post advising motorists to steer clear of the area.

According to the post, a motor vehicle collision occurred in the area and sent two tankers sprawled across the area.

While two people were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital (MMH), authorities confirmed each of the tankers carried nothing.

Permian Basin NBC affiliate KWES News reported that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) worked to clear the vehicles from the scene.

Neither MFD nor Midland media outlets reported the length of the clearing process or when the area was declared safe to travel through.
