Midland awarded a $1.44 million contract to TruClear Water Solutions of Abilene for the city’s Advanced Groundwater Treatment project. The purchase was part of the consent agenda for Midland City Council's Aug. 13 meeting.

According to a memo for the Council by Utilities Director Carl Craigo, "TruClear's proposal was the most advantageous of the three proposals submitted to the city."

The company's technology excels in contaminant removal, including arsenic, vanadium, PFSO, and PFOA. "It ensures significant reductions in microbial content and chemical contaminants," Craigo said in the memo.

Craigo also said that monthly payments of $120,000 create a cost-effective operational expenditure model. "The company has a proven track record in industrial and municipal water treatment projects," Craigo said.

The contract will enable the city to enhance its water quality, meet health and environmental standards, and ensure a sustainable water management system for the community.
