The Midland Police Department (MPD) has announced upcoming fall dates for the admission exam into the Midland Police Academy, with the first being August 17 at 9 a.m.
According to an August 5 Facebook post by the Permian Basin law enforcement agency, after the August testing, there will be testing sessions on September 21 and October 12.
According to a previous Facebook post attributed to the MPD, in order to qualify for the force, an applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old, hold a valid driver's license, have no felony convictions, and present either a high school diploma or a GED with college credits.
The physical requirements include performing 30 sit-ups in 60 seconds, executing 25 push-ups in 60 seconds, and completing a 1.5-mile run in less than 14 minutes and 46 seconds.
Midland Times reported that the Midland Police Academy held its fifth graduation ceremony featuring seven recruits entering the force.
