Midland International Air and Space Port (MAF) will host a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Precheck enrollment event from August 19-24.
According to an August 1 Facebook post by MAF, appointments are limited, and interested individuals are advised to secure their spot as early as possible. Registrations can be completed by visiting https://tsaenrollmentbyidemia.tsa.dhs.gov/programs/precheck. The post also includes a QR code that can be scanned to begin the process.
According to the airport, while setting up appointments is encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted as long as there’s availability.
The TSA’s website describes Precheck as a smoother security screening process that allows passengers to bypass the removal of shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts, or light jackets. Additionally, passengers enjoy shorter wait times at over 200 airports across the country. More than 90 airlines also provide Precheck.
MAF will host the event from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the post.
As stated on its website, MAF ranks eighth among primary commercial service airports in Texas. The airport is owned and operated by the city of Midland and offers more than 20 daily departures to several major airports including Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Dallas Love Field (DAL), Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Houston William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and Denver International Airport (DEN).
