The Midland Police Department (MPD) was summoned to a possible attempted kidnapping call that occurred on July 31. The call took place shortly before 10:30 a.m., with authorities dispatched to the Midland Soup Kitchen Ministry at 1401 Orchard Ln.

According to MPD, shortly after officers' arrival and initial investigation, they located a suspect at Hidalgo Park that matched the description of the male involved.

Aside from the male subject, the vehicle he supposedly drove was identified as well.

Authorities spoke with children, their guardians, and other individuals on scene only to determine that no criminal offense was discovered or found to have been committed.

MPD stated that police created an information report and the male in question—a 54-year-old man—was positively identified, field interviewed, and cited for criminal trespassing from Midland Soup Kitchen. He, however, wasn't arrested.
