The Midland Memorial Hospital (MMH) is seeking applications for a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). According to the Permian Basin hospital, a PFAC consists of community partners who will help advance best practices at the facility.

According to a July 26 Facebook post, volunteer patients and families who join a PFAC can provide valuable insights to hospitals. The post features a QR code that interested individuals can scan to apply.

A blog on MMH’s website stated that its PFAC will discuss various topics in an effort to consider the views of patients and clinicians. According to the blog, the hospital’s mission is to lead healthcare for greater Midland, which can be achieved by including the community.

PFAC meetings will be held regularly throughout the year, starting online before transitioning into an in-person format in the future. Regular meetings allow the PFAC to actively participate in working toward the hospital’s organizational goals.

As per MMH's website, it first opened its doors in 1950 as the sole non-profit hospital in Midland County. Over nearly 75 years, the hospital has grown from a modest 75-bed facility to a substantial 546-bed patient tower.
