Heather Bredimus announced her candidacy for the Midland City Council District 1 seat.

 "I am optimistic that my record of servant leadership and commitment to enhancing Midland as an ideal community for families will resonate with fellow residents," said Bredimus. "My focus is on transparent, honest representation that addresses the diverse needs of our community. I am dedicated to fostering solutions for crucial issues such as public safety, economic development, and responsible fiscal management."

With 20 years of involvement in various community organizations, Bredimus has distinguished herself through initiatives supporting vulnerable populations, particularly foster children and adoptive families. Her leadership includes founding a support group for foster/adoptive families under St. Joseph's Ministry and spearheading a mentorship program for foster youth transitioning out of the welfare system.

Beyond her roles in social services, Bredimus serves as a Certified Rape Victim Advocate at the Crisis Center of West Texas and volunteers extensively with the Midland Community Theatre. She also holds leadership positions as President Elect of the Rotary Club of Midland, Board Member for the League of Women Voters, and founder of local nonprofits such as "Thank A Healthcare Hero.” Additionally, Bredimus contributes her expertise to the Citizens Development and Hotel/Motel Advisory Board with the City of Midland.

A lifelong resident of Midland, Bredimus is an alumna of Midland High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Her professional journey began in education and has evolved to her current role as a graphic designer at House of Printing. Married for 18 years to Dr. Kit Bredimus, Chief Nursing Officer at Midland Memorial Hospital, they raise four children, Jack and Logan (14), Molly (8), and Ben (7).
