MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Midland City Council will begin making appointments to boards and commissions in September for the new fiscal year. There are 30 seats available due to term expirations or vacancies.
The majority of terms will begin on Oct. 1. Terms generally vary from two to four years.
Applications can be downloaded from the City’s website at www.midlandtexas.gov (select Government, and then click on Boards and Commissions). The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024.
The following is a list of the remaining Boards/Commissions which have open seats:
· Airport Planning and Development Board – 1 seat
· Animal Control Advisory Board – 3 seats
· Barbara & George H.W. Bush Convention Center Advisory Board – 1 seat
· Building & Fire Code Review Committee/Construction Board of Adjustments & Appeals – 6 seats
· Citizens Development and Hotel/Motel Advisory Board – 3 seats
· Midland Housing Authority Commission – 1 seat
· Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District Board – 3 seats
· Midland Spaceport Development Corporation – 1 seat
· Oil and Gas Advisory Commission – 2 seats
· Parks and Recreation Commission – 2 seats
· Planning and Zoning Commission – 1 seat
· Zoning Board of Adjustment and Airport Zoning Board of Adjustment – 2 seats, and 4 alternate seats
