AutoZone to start work on new store in October

The largest American retailer of aftermarket automotive parts and accessories is bringing another store to the city.

AutoZone, led by the company’s Director of Store Development Wade Davis, will be constructing a 7,147 square-foot store at 5510 North Big Spring Street, according to a filing with a state regulatory agency. The project name for the store is AutoZone #9285.

According to the filing, the Memphis, Tennessee-based auto parts retail company will build the project at an estimated $795,361. The project is anticipated to begin on Oct. 4 and run until March 6, 2025. The company will use an in-house design team for the project.

In May, AutoZone reported a 3.5% increase in total sales for the third quarter of 2024, reaching $4.2 billion, according to a news release. The company has four stores in Midland, according to Google.
