The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) thwarted an inmate’s escape attempt from the Central Detention Center on July 22. Adolfo Williams was identified as the suspected escapee.

According to a July 23 Facebook post by the sheriff’s office, Williams escaped from the minimal security housing unit at around 9:30 p.m.

Williams was detained for alleged possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation for theft over $200 and under $750.

After an arrest warrant was issued for Williams, MCSO and other local law enforcement agencies conducted an intense search.

The post stated that authorities located Williams in the 1500 block of West Griffin Avenue at approximately 1 a.m.

Williams was returned to custody and charged with felony escape, according to the post.

Citing jail records, Midland Reporter-Telegram (MRT) reported that MCSO originally arrested him on July 20.
