Operation Independence results in a dozen solicitation of prostitution arrests

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) was among the law enforcement agencies that netted a group of people in a prostitution sting. The multiple apprehensions occurred on July 11.

According to a July 15 MCSO Facebook post, the sheriff’s department was joined by the Midland Police Department (MPD), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the MCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID), the DPS Highway Patrol, the Odessa Police Department (OPD), and the Midland Independent School District (MISD) in executing Operation Independence.

In all, 12 individuals were arrested. They are 23-year-old Austin Brown, 53-year-old Nebraska Draughter, 20-year-old Adrian Granado, 42-year-old Orland McNeely, 29-year-old Carter Morris, 47-year-old Ariel Curbelo, 22-year-old Swade Scott, 42-year-old Adam Poore, 59-year-old Martin Schmidt, 38-year-old Tyrand Williams, 24-year-old Nicolas Vela, and 28-year-old Austin Ott.

The subjects were booked into the MCSO Central Detention Center without incident on a solicitation of prostitution charge, which is classified as a state jail felony.
