The Midland City Council approved $924,374 in spending as its share of the $4.8 million for the Wildcatter Trail-Champions project during its July 9 meeting. The funding agreement is with the Texas Department of Transportation.
According to the Midland City Council's meeting results, the project involves constructing a shared-use path along Champions Drive from the Scharbauer Sports Complex entrance to Tradewinds Boulevard. The path then travels along Tradewinds Boulevard from Champions Drive to Deauville Boulevard and along Deauville Boulevard from Tradewinds Boulevard to Arlington Road.
The city's local match was estimated to be $792,174, with design costs estimated at $132,000. According to the meeting results, the city will be responsible for 100% of all non-reimbursable costs.
Councilmember Eric Davidson moved to approve the resolution, which was seconded by Councilmember John Norman, according to the meeting results.
