Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) introduced a concurrent resolution on June 12 commemorating the 100th birthday of President George Herbert Walker Bush and honoring his service to the nation.
"President George H.W. Bush is an inspiration to all Texans," said Pfluger. "He dedicated his life to serving our country in an incredible number of capacities—as a decorated naval aviator who saw combat in World War II, U.S. Representative for the 7th Congressional District of Texas, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Director of Central Intelligence, Vice President, and President of the United States, as well as many impactful initiatives in his personal life. He left an incredible legacy and his work continues. It is an honor to commemorate June 12th, the 100th birthday of President George H.W. Bush."
Cornyn said that Bush fought for the freedom of Americans while being a "loving" father, grandfather and great grandfather. “President Bush showed us that you can be both a good man and a great leader, and I’m proud to honor this true statesman on what would have been his 100th birthday," he said.
