West Texas Radio Group, Hispanic Culture Center to host Dia Del Nino event

West Texas Radio Group and the Hispanic Culture Center of Midland will host Dia Del Nino, a free community event for children, on April 30. The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, Halff Park Club.

"We are happy to host this free community event to celebrate Dia Del Nino, thanks to support from title sponsors Reliable Collision Body Shop, along with The Bosworth Company, Vital Care Urgent Care, and Preacher Bill's Coins,” John Moesch, vice president and general manager of  West Texas Radio Group, told Midland Times. 

According to Moesch, the event will offer activities for families, including bounce houses and face painting. It will also feature entertainment from the Hispanic Culture Center as well as bike giveaways from West Texas Radio Group, which will take place every 30 minutes. 

According to Cal delaPena, executive director for the Hispanic Culture Center of Midland, Dia Del Nino started in Mexico in 1925 as a way to celebrate children with games and music. 

“We look forward to our Ballet Folklorico performing and honored to partner with West Texas Radio Group and the Boys & Girls Club, Halff Park Club,” he told Midland Times. “Community events are the heart of Midland.”
