Dr. Stephanie Howard, Superintendent of Midland ISD, has expressed her condolences to the family of a 4-year-old student from Lamar Early Education Center in Ector County ISD. The student tragically passed away following a medical emergency at school, as reported in a post made by Howard on social media.
In a news release issued by Mike Adkins, Chief Communications Officer for Ector ISD, it was revealed that the student was a boy who experienced the medical episode on Monday. Following this incident, he was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Superintendent of ECISD, Dr. Scott Muri, conveyed his grief over the tragic event. "We are devastated," said Muri. "The loss of a child creates unimaginable pain. Our trauma team will remain at the school for as long as they are needed. The entire ECISD team extends our deepest condolences to the student’s family."

According to information available on a GoFundMe page, the deceased student was named Ezekiel and belonged to the Urias family. They have expressed their devastation over his untimely demise. Impressively, the fundraising account has already raised over $24,000, significantly exceeding its initial goal of $15,000.
The Urias family released an emotional statement regarding their loss: "Ezekiel tragically passed away while at Lamar Elementary School, where he was supposed to be enjoying his day like any other child. The news of his passing while taking a nap has left us shattered beyond words," they said. "As we try to navigate this unimaginable loss, we are reaching out for support from our community. Any contribution, big or small, towards Ezekiel's funeral expenses would mean the world to us.
